MADRID, September 15, 2025.
Unión Profesional announces the launch of Upro , the Digital Skills Training Program designed by and for professionals . This unprecedented initiative in Spain opens for registration starting in October for all professionals. The goal: to prepare up to 80,000 professionals in key skills such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, and technological tools applied to their respective sectors.
Upro is not just a training program: it's a key opportunity. For the first time, professional associations will be direct beneficiaries of European training funds , in explicit recognition of their executive capacity, prestige, and structural role in the evolution of professional practice. Unión Profesional thus becomes the channel for this action, framed within the Generation D initiative, promoted by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service , through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. It has a budget of 200 million euros for the development of a digital skills training program for professional associations. The initiatives are financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the European Union's Next Generation funds , within the framework of investment 3 of Component 19, the National Digital Skills Plan.
Training content aligned with professional reality
The Upro program offers cross-curricular and targeted training, applicable from day one, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and new digital tools. It covers a comprehensive curriculum ranging from time management, digital leadership, and agile methodologies to the advanced use of collaborative tools such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Power BI, Power Platform, Copilot, and CRM. Key areas such as artificial intelligence, including generative AI and its integration into the Microsoft 365 environment, data analytics and governance, digital security, digital marketing, and e-administration are also addressed. It also fosters innovation, strategic thinking, change leadership, and the ability to adapt in increasingly digital, diverse, and complex professional environments.
Evolving professional community
In addition to improving individual skills, Upro proposes a collective transformation : it fosters synergies, creates networks between professionals from different sectors, and promotes common progress, from the technical to the ethical and social.
Tomás Cobo Castro, president of Unión Profesional , believes that “Upro has a direct and transformative impact on the daily practice of professionals, positively impacting society.”
