The aim of the conference is to publicize architects, engineers, municipalities and other professional experiences, tools and methods that allow to develop models of territorial and urban planning with environmental criteria.
80% of the population of Europe lives in cities. Cities are the support of economic activity, regional development and the quality of life of its inhabitants. However, cities are also the place where more energy is consumed, more waste is accumulated, more pollution is produced and more space is consumed.
The concept of sustainability, despite being newly created, has spread widely and everywhere, and it is as simple and understandable as knowing that we must use the resources we have available, so that they do not compromise those of future generations. This concept, applied to the energy consumption of the city, suggests that buildings must achieve the highest degree of energy self-sufficiency, as well as reducing the environmental impact that is derived from their construction, management and reconstruction
