The Government will promote a law of administrative simplification to expedite urban and environmental procedures and enable the month of August
The Minister of Territory and Sustainability, Damià Calvet, announced today that the Government will soon approve an omnibus law that will speed up urban and environmental procedures, while enabling the month of August for these actions, as part of a package of measures aimed at recovering the country's activity once the Covid-19 pandemic is overcome. The Minister has appeared telematically before the Territorial and Environment Committees of the Parliament to explain the actions promoted by the Department in the framework of the fight against coronavirus and to advance the new measures that will be implemented in the coming weeks.
Thus, he recalled that "we have had a halt to ordinary administrative procedures, whether urban or environmental", although, internally, we continue to work on the various files. "Attentive to the needs of the country, we are preparing an omnibus law for the simplification of urban and environmental procedures -not for the simplification of content-, in the line of avoiding duplication or entering more tight deadlines, to facilitate economic activity ", He announced.
This streamlining of procedures will be complemented by "an amendment to the law to enable the month of August, which is usually incapable of planning and environmental deadlines," he said. "It is a good response from the Department so that things go smoothly and make the most of time," he stressed. In addition, on 8 May, all the territorial town planning commissions will be held online, which usually take place in person and several days a month.
