The Catalan Government's Minister for Public Policy and Public Administration, Jordi Puigneró, and the General Director of Industry, Matilde Villarroya, will participate in " Engineering is a degree ", a day organized by the colleges of graduate engineers and grouped technicians to the METGEC (the Technical Engineering and Graduate in Engineering of Catalonia). It will be on November 23rd , from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., in the hall of the School. The welcome will be given by Miquel Darnés, dean of ENGINYERS BCN and president of METGEC. With the aim of strengthening institutions and society with the importance of the new degrees in engineering and professional colleges, the recently-established METGEC - an association that brings together about 15,000 engineers - is preparing for the 23rd of November the day "The Engineering is a degree".
Do they have professional qualifications? Can graduates in engineering access level A1 of the administration? What level do the degrees have in the European Qualification Framework? What degrees can be placed in the colleges of graduate engineers and technical engineers? Is the college obligatory? Are companies aware of the knowledge, skills and competencies of graduate engineers? These and more questions related to the incorporation into the professional and professional world of graduate engineers will be debated during the day.
Program
At 9:40 p.m. Miquel Darnés, Dean of the College and President of METGEC, will welcome those attending an event that will open Jordi Puigneró, Director of Digital Policies and Public Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Then, at 1020 a.m. , will begin the presentation of José Javier Medina, president of the Institute of Graduates in Engineering and Technical Engineers of Spain (INGITE).
The coffee break will be a good opportunity for networking and later, at 11.15 p.m. , Xavier Font, vice president of METGEC, will moderate a round table where Antoni Abad, president of CECOT, will take part; Gonzalo Meneses, expert in the implementation of the Bologna Plan; Mònica Bide, commercial director of HR consulting, Mur i Martí and Miquel Soriano, representative of the ACUP - Catalan public universities
Finally, it is expected that from 1250 h Miquel Darnés will give his speech and Matilde Villarroya, General Director of Industry of the Generalitat of Catalonia, conclude the event.
