The CETIT, the first school to promote expert training in the legal field

After intense efforts to reward the legal tasks of the industrial technical engineers, the days were held on June 26 and 27 simultaneously in the headquarters of Tarragona and Tortosa.

The College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona (CETIT) is the first school institution that promotes the training of the architect in the judicial sphere. This is the first step of an important continuing education that, with annual regularity, has very specific and necessary objectives. On the one hand, the prestige of our professional sector increases and on the other hand, they contribute to avoid the intrusion of other groups.

This initiative, a pioneer in this growing sector of industrial technical activity, is a clear and forceful response to competition against associations of experts and others.

Before opting for training as the basic principle of this chosen path, our Dean, Santiago Crivillé, held talks with the president of the Provincial Court, Antonio Carril Pan, and the Minister of Justice, Josep M. Vallès. Both institutions valued this initiative very positively and agreed to establish a framework for collaboration between institutions.

It is also noteworthy that to register for the judicial experts of the Department of Justice and Home Affairs of the Generalitat de Catalunya, regulated by CETIT, it will be necessary to have taken part in these workshops compulsorily for those who dedicate themselves to the activity from in 2000.

In these first days, which will be held annually, the magistrate Judge of Instruction in Tarragona, Francisco Revuelta and the lawyer Ferran Huidobro, with extensive experience in the teaching of legal practice, participated as speakers. The issues that were dealt with included the intervention of the referee in the civil and criminal field, the law of civil prosecution, the assessment and the form of the opinion, and the responsibility of the referee.
