The General Council of Industrial Technical Engineering (COGITI) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Engineers of Ireland (Engineers Ireland) for the mutual recognition of the Irish Associate / Chartered Engineer and the DPC Accreditation (Development Continuous Professional) Engineers.
This is, therefore, one more step for mobility and the international recognition of the Technical Engineering of Spain.
In this way, a Spanish industrial technical engineer who has obtained his DPC accreditation and wishes to develop his professional career in Ireland, thanks to the signed agreement he will be able to obtain the Chartered Engineer quickly to carry out his profession in that country. As an added requirement, it is only necessary to pass a small interview, to accelerate the process, the sole purpose is to ensure that the applicant's engineer understands local practices, legislation, rules, etc.; as well as other professional and other issues, to be able to work in the field of Engineering. It will also be necessary to have some knowledge of the language.
At the signing of the agreement, which was held on July 8 in Dublin, José Antonio Galdón and Domingo Villero, president and member of the Executive Board, respectively, attended by COGITI; and John Power and Damien Owens, Managing Director and Secretary of Engineers Ireland.

At this meeting, they explained the initiatives that was being carried out by COGITI, as a representative Institution of Industrial Technical Engineering in Spain, in various fields, with the aim of offering new services to Spanish engineers, motivated by the current situation in which companies, clients and society, in general, demand increasingly highly qualified and committed professionals in the exercise of their profession; That is to say, that they are not only carriers of an academic degree, but that throughout their professional life they have been able to adapt to the changes and the technological and management innovations.
In this sense, José Antonio Galdón and Gerardo Rierol presented the DPC Ingenieros Accreditation System, which awards an identifying professional qualification of engineers who access this system, based on their career and professional competencies (training and work experience) , which is based on three fundamental principles: employability, mobility and competitiveness of professionals. This system helps the international mobility of engineers, since it allows identifying the equalization of the title of Industrial Technical Engineer in any country in the EU.
