VISIT "HYDROGEOLOGY WALK THROUGH THE GALERA PLAIN"

Last Saturday, March 21, we participated in the organization of Hydrogeology, together with the International Association of Hydrogeologists of the Tarragona region.

The departure took place from the Torre de la Galera where the Hydrogeologist of the ACA Mr. Pilar Barrero explained to us the geological formations and hydrogeology of the Plana de la Galera. Then we visited the municipal supply well of La Galera, and one of the groundwater collection wells of the CR Pous de Godall, where our dean Joan G. Talarn gave an explanation of the pumping facilities and the new technologies available to the Community of irrigators, as well as the future implementation of photovoltaic solar energy for self-consumption.

The day ended at the Font de l'Arboç where the emergence of groundwater to the surface could be seen.

It was a very useful day to learn about the groundwater resources that we have in the territory.
