As every year, the Riudoms Arnau de Palomar Studies Center (CERAP) and the Riudoms City Council convene the Arnau de Palomar Awards, which will be in their 35th edition this 2025. The main objective of the competition is to promote research and investigation, as well as culture in its various expressions.
Some awards related to the Gaudí Year
This year's Arnau de Palomar Awards are linked to the Gaudí Year, which will be celebrated from the end of 2025 to 2026. For this reason, most of the award categories are related to the figure of the architect, directly or indirectly.
In fact, the main novelty of this edition is in the research category. The prize money has been significantly increased, which is €6,000. The theme of the works presented must be “Water treatment in Gaudí's work: form, function, beauty and sustainability. Influences of the hydraulic systems of Riudoms”.
Contestants must submit a general description of the project as well as other information that serves to explain the proposal in as much detail as possible. Among the proposals submitted, the person who emerges the winner will have 10 months to deliver the finished work. It will be at that time that they will obtain the financial prize.
The modalities of the Arnau de Palomar Awards 2025
The competition has six categories this year. In total, almost €9,000 in prizes will be awarded.
- Research: Topic: “Water treatment in Gaudí's work.” Grant of €6,000.
- Youth research: Grant of €300.
- Visual Arts: Theme “Origins”. Grant of €1,000.
- Short story: Theme: “Originality lies in returning to the origins.” Grant of €500.
- Poetry: Theme: “Origins”. Grant of €500.
- Microstories: Theme: “Origins”. Grant of €500.
Submission of proposals until September 19th
Those who wish to apply for the Arnau de Palomar Awards 2025 must submit their work no later than Friday, September 19, 2025. This date applies to all categories. On this date, a final work must not be submitted, but a document with the main guidelines. From then on, the winning proposal will have 10 months to develop.
