The Generalitat of Catalonia, through the ACCIÓ agency, has activated the 2025 call for Green technological innovation project grants, a strategic line aimed at promoting the green transformation of the Catalan productive fabric.
The measure is aimed exclusively at SMEs with an operational establishment in Catalonia , with a minimum track record of two years, and offers up to 75% non-repayable subsidy for projects that develop products, processes or services with a positive environmental impact , linked to the mitigation of climate change and the improvement of efficiency in the use of natural resources.
With an initial budget of 3.5 million euros , the call is structured on a competitive basis, and plans to subsidize proposals with a minimum cost of 40,000 euros and a maximum grant of 90,000 euros per project.
Projects must be innovative and applied in nature , with medium or low technological risk, and must demonstrate a measurable impact in one of the following areas:
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)
- Efficiency in the use of natural resources (energy, water, raw materials)
- Climate change adaptation and environmental resilience
The use of advanced digital technologies will also be valued, provided that they are applied to environmental objectives and are not the main purpose.
Projects from both the industrial and knowledge-intensive service sectors can be submitted, including activities such as manufacturing, logistics, construction, waste management, mobility, tourism or environmental technologies.
Green 2025 grants are formalized as direct non-repayable grants, with competitive financial conditions:
Maximum grant per project : €90,000
Maximum eligible percentage: 75% of eligible expenditure
40% advance payment without guarantees once the grant is granted
100% subsidy for the cost of the final audit, up to €1,500
Aid subject to the de minimis regime
Projects will only be eligible if they have not started before the submission of the application, and must be completed before 30 September 2026 , respecting at all times the European principle of not causing a significant harm (DNSH) to the environment.
The application period begins on September 4, 2025 and ends on October 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. , through the Canal Empresa portal.
The proposals will be assessed based on criteria of technical quality, economic viability, degree of innovation, environmental impact and maturity of the project, in accordance with the published regulatory bases.
The Green 2025 grants respond to a dual objective: on the one hand, to help Catalan companies reduce their climate footprint and adapt to a more demanding environmental context; on the other, to promote competitiveness through technological innovation applied to sustainability.
In the province of Tarragona, a territory with a strong presence of industrial, logistics and agri-food activity, the call can represent an effective way to activate projects linked to energy self-consumption, the reduction of emissions in thermal processes, efficient waste management or digitalization aimed at environmental efficiency.
It is, in short, a public tool designed to unblock projects that require financial support to become a reality, but also to align economic activity with the decarbonization and climate resilience objectives set out in the European and Catalan roadmap.
At OTEC Tarragona , we put ourselves at the service of the business community to facilitate this process, with a clear proposal: to convert climate challenges into opportunities for real transformation.
