Large turnout at the Conference on the new RSCIEI held at Port Aventura

This past Monday, Enginyers Tarragona organized a conference on the new fire safety regulations in industrial establishments (RSCIEI) that brought together leading experts and professionals in the field, with the aim of exposing the main differences between the RSCIEI 2004 and the new one. They also discussed the changes to the CTE, changes to the SPs, to the RIPCI, among others that affect.

The day was divided into two blocks. The first included the welcome by Maria del Mar Giné, director of the territorial services for business and employment in Tarragona. And then, the first three presentations were given. The first of them, on the regulation itself focused on the new inspection regime and the transitional provisions, by Mr. Marc Cucarull.

Next, it was the turn of Ms. Montse Molina, Technician of the Prevention Service of the emergency region of Tarragona, who spoke about the impact of the regulatory changes on the administrative intervention of the Fire Brigade of the Generalitat de Catalunya. And the third of the presentations focused on the implication of this regulation in the processing of activities, by Mr. Dario Ballesta, Chief Technician of the Tarragona City Council. The debate between the speakers and the audience was then opened.

The second block consisted of the last three presentations that focused on the review and development of the performance design, by Mr. Pau Gavarró, vice president of CLÚSIC; the second on spoke about the initial and periodic inspections, by Mr. Francesc Subirats, of the Fire Safety Cluster; and the last presentation focused on the SP -136, the certificate to regulate the applications of passive protection, by the General Fire Protection Manager, Daniel Juscafresa. Again, a question and answer session was opened among the attendees.

The day was concluded by the dean of CETIT, Mr. Joan G. Talarn around 1:00 p.m., who thanked the attendees and participants for attending the day.
