On Tuesday, November 12, RD-Law 7/2024, of November 11, was published, by which urgent measures are adopted to promote the Plan for immediate response, reconstruction and relaunch in the face of the damage caused by the Depression Isolated at High Levels (DANA) in different municipalities between October 28 and November 4, 2024.
This new regulatory framework applies mainly to industrial safety facilities and lifts in areas with major damage from climate events between October 28 and November 4, 2024.
Article 20 highlights the extension of certificates issued in the field of metrology. The certificates issued by the bodies designated to carry out the metrological control of the State to manufacturers with establishments in municipalities provided for in the annex of Royal Decree Law 6/2024, of November 5, or relating to instruments installed in the aforementioned areas , whose period of validity ends between October 28, 2024 and April 30, 2025, will be automatically extended until November 1, 2025.
Article 21 highlights the extension of industrial safety certificates for installations in municipalities included in the annex of RD 6/2024. In this way, certificates for lifts and other installations, which expire between October 28, 2024 and April 30, 2025, will be considered extended until November 1, 2025. This will allow for owners to have a longer term to correct serious defects identified in inspections and avoid possible service stops due to safety problems.
