Our dean, Mr. Antoni Escarré responded to different questions raised about sustainable mobility and climate change.
Mr. Escarré's opinion on what should be the transformations that Tarragona must carry out in the next decade, such as:
At an urban planning level, a radial system of walks that start from the urban core
The transfer of the railway, and the Station, to open the city to the sea, and that it does not act as a separator of the nucleus; reduce the inundation of Serrallo.
Reduce traffic in the urban core, and convert the old core into a pedestrian area.
Guarded car parks, with vehicle charging stations at the main entrances to the city, with shuttle transport to the city centre, also with clean fuels.3
Conservation and dissemination of ancient Tarraco, as a World Heritage Site; which implies, at the same time, favoring activity and housing in the Old Town.
Get the CN-240 to become a freeway to the AVE Station.
Facing Climate Change, through the installation of photovoltaic parks. These could very well be installed in outdoor car parks, or canopies on the Ramblas.
Homogeneize, by zone, the type of canopies or pergolas on the streets, depending on the type of housing.
