One of the key points of the day was the importance of having a vision for the territory to reach the objectives set in the Catalonia 2030/2040 Project, where it was ensured that “Catalonia has all the capacity to have energy sovereignty and we must work with this goal ”and stressed that all Houses are working with“ optimism to seize the present moment to move forward ”.
The President of the Barcelona Chamber of Deputies also remarked that if the objectives set out in Horizon 2030/2050 are to be achieved, an investment of close to 60 billion euros in the field of renewable energies is needed in Catalonia. "Although it may seem like a very large figure, in terms of GDP it is not exaggerated," said Roca; who has asked the Generalitat to make this issue a priority for all ministries and for new projects for renewable energy parks in Catalonia to be launched after eight years without any new facilities.
In the same vein, he pointed to green mobility as essential for the fight against climate change and for the great business opportunities it entails.
