As you know, during this month of June, the EBAU ( Assessment of the Baccalaureate for University Admission ) is being carried out, and in a few weeks, students will have to choose the university degree they want to study. And one more year we find the problem that almost 50% of the titles of Degree in Engineering of the Industrial field, a total of 132 degrees, do not give access to regulated profession.
Choosing the right academic degree is one of the most important decisions one has to make in one's life, and unfortunately, today, there is a huge ignorance on this subject and the lack of rigorous information on the part of some Universities that, in addition, they persist in continuing to promote “specialist” degrees in Engineering, contrary to the current legislation on Universities (RD 1393/2007), and all this, with the complicity or rather passivity of the Ministry, of the Autonomous Communities and the Evaluation Agencies.
For all this, and to help students to clarify their doubts and to be aware at all times of the necessary information on the degrees of Engineering Degree to be taken, the COGITI has made available a "Guide of degrees" on its corporate website https://cogiti.es/guia-de-titulaciones .
In this way, in an easy and intuitive way, students can select, in the deployable skill for this, the degrees they want, offered by universities throughout Spain, and check not only if they give access to a regulated profession and they grant professional attributions, but in addition other information of interest like the professional exits, the possibility of obtaining the title of Euroingeniero, the access to the public function, or the levels MECES and EQF, among others information.
It is, in short, that students are fully aware of the studies they will choose, with the maximum possible transparency, as it is common for universities not to offer this type of information, which generates unpleasant surprises for students when they are aware that with their degree they will not have the legal capacity to sign their Engineering projects, technical directions, reports, etc.
We enclose a press release and initial prologue of this portal and a list with all the degrees of Degree in Engineering of the industrial field offered by the Spanish universities. As you can see, the intention is to transfer to society that from COGITI and the Colleges we will not give up the obstinacy to continue offering truthful information, which can help future Engineering students to choose with guarantees, the degree to be studied.
