Addressed to: Aimed at professionals in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, engineers and installation technicians, those responsible for safety and occupational risk prevention, as well as installation companies, the food industry and representatives of public administrations linked to the regulation and control of refrigeration installations.
Dates: May 18 (Monday)
Hours: From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Introduction:

Smoke control in cold storage rooms presents its own particularities that are often resolved based on prescriptive solutions or partial adaptations of criteria designed for other types of buildings. This approach, based on specific scenarios and theoretical conditions, does not always adequately reflect the real behavior of smoke in spaces with negative temperatures, large volumes and high compartmentalization.

Fire development, smoke generation and movement, and the response of control systems are strongly conditioned by factors such as temperature, stratification and ventilation. In this context, apparently similar situations can give rise to different behaviors, highlighting the need for an approach that allows analyzing these uncertainties in a structured way.

With this guide, CLÚSIC provides the sector with a specific technical framework for the analysis and design of smoke control in cold storage rooms, integrating smoke behavior criteria and representative fire scenarios. The objective is to facilitate a rigorous justification of the solutions adopted, aligned with good practices and with a more accurate understanding of the level of safety achieved in this type of facilities.
