[Cultural event] Visit the memory spaces: ANTIAIRI REFUGI AND PRESÓ DE PILATS

According to historical data, the city of Tarragona received during the last two years of the civil war almost 150 air strikes. One of the spaces where the population was hiding is the refuge under the town hall in Plaça de la Font, a route through the most significant places of the Civil War and the Francoist repression in Tarragona.

The prison of Pilats, or a prison center from which 650 people left to be shot in the Oliva and that in 1939 concentrated more than 1,300 prisoners.

The visit will be guided and will be carried out by Jordi Piqué Padró, Head of the Archive and Municipal Documentation Service of the City Council of Tarragona.
