On May 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. , the Tarragona College of Industrial Technical Engineers will be the setting for the presentation of the "New Guide for Smoke Control in Cold Storage Rooms" , a technical document promoted by the Fire Safety Cluster (CLÚSIC).
This in-person conference, with prior registration and limited places, will bring together professionals from the field of engineering and fire safety to address the specific challenges associated with smoke control in this type of facility.
A technical approach to a complex challenge
The control of fumes in cold storage rooms presents relevant particularities derived from factors such as: which significantly condition the behavior of smoke in the event of a fire.
The new technical guide aims to provide a specific framework for analysis and design, going beyond traditional approaches based on prescriptive solutions or partial adaptations. The document integrates smoke behavior criteria and representative scenarios, facilitating a more rigorous justification of the solutions adopted and a better assessment of the level of safety in this type of facility.
The session will be structured into different parts:
Institutional welcome, by representatives of the professional association and CLÚSIC
Presentation of the guide, by specialists in smoke control
Coffee break to promote networking
Technical roundtable, focused on the criteria and challenges of the sector
Institutional closing
Among the speakers are leading professionals from the fields of engineering, consulting and industry, who will contribute their experience in performance design and smoke control solutions.
A meeting point for the sector
The conference is intended as a space for technical exchange and debate, where the uncertainties associated with the behavior of smoke in extreme conditions will be addressed and good practices and real experiences will be shared.
With this initiative, CLÚSIC reinforces its commitment to the development of advanced technical tools that contribute to improving fire safety in complex industrial environments.
Limited places.
